LOCATION
Set in New South Wales’s majestic Kangaroo Valley, Ooralba is a sprawling and luxurious country estate that celebrates the spectacular beauty and awe-inspiring power of nature. Nestled in the shadows of ancient towering stone monoliths, eucalyptus trees and stringy barks of Morton National Park, where mesmerising waterfalls trickle down sandstone escarpments, this idyllic scene is only enhanced by a striking contemporary homestead, the heart of Ooralba. It’s here where you’ll be able to take in the sunlight tracking over dramatic ochre-red escarpments, the bristling of native bushland in the breeze, and sweeping vistas of the South Coast from expansive timber decks. The 288-acre estate includes dreamy gardens as well as a kitchen produce garden planted with fresh herbs, orchards full of citrus fruit and macadamia nuts, an olive grove, and grazing paddocks for Angus and Murray Grey cattle.
THE HOMESTEAD
Ooralba calms guests from the outset as you step into light-filled interiors courtesy of soaring cathedral ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows framing the natural surroundings of the estate, as well as the beautifully landscaped gardens within it. Leading Australian designer Nic Graham has utilised local materials to create striking architectural details that add welcoming warmth to the living spaces: salvaged Sydney wharf timber beams are now statement ceiling beams and timber from an old Queensland bridge forms one of the ceilings supports while a hand-crafted stone feature wall surrounds the central fireplace and is offset by white walls and polished concrete floors.
Furniture and lighting are contemporary by design, accentuating the pared-back and elegant atmosphere of Ooralba. A curated art collection featuring predominantly Australian artists lines the walls of the homestead while the generous dining area opens onto a chef’s kitchen, making it an ideal setting for casual dining and memorable entertaining.
THE EXPERIENCEThe exclusive inviting sense of home offered at Ooralba is all-encompassing. The fully serviced homestead has a private chef, concierge and housekeeping staff, allowing you to immerse yourself entirely in nature whilst breathing in the fresh country air. The seasoned team delivers meticulous yet warm service suitable for any occasion, whether it’s a leisurely interlude for up to 14 guests or a bespoke event for up to 120 people, Ooralba becomes your blank canvas.
